Description
By 2003, Super Furry Animals were so infamously eclectic that an album as diverse as ‘Phantom Power’ (their sixth effort) didn’t raise as many eyebrows as it ought to have done. As such, it’s always been something of a lost treasure in their catalogue. With Gruff Rhys’ lyrics about “broken relationships and war” couched in references to cabbages, turtles and the tennis-playing Williams sisters, it’s a consistent delight, featuring the singles ‘Golden Retriever’ and ‘Hello Sunshine’ plus perennial set closer ‘Slow Life’. Twentieth anniversary edition features out-takes, demos, live versions and B-sides.
